When I get older...

Tonight on our way home from dinner Cole had a request of me. The conversation went something like this...

"Daddy, when you are older and I'm older and I have kids you'll be a grandpa."

"Yeah, that's true" I replied.

"Can you live in the same state as me?"

"Sure!" I answered.

"And can you have a house with stairs?"

Thinking logically I answered back, "Well, I'll be old. I may not want stairs."

"Not that old. I mean old like Papa."

So, Dad, I guess you aren't that old to Cole. Good to know... Cute boy, huh?

Gang, what a cute story.....I'm glad that's the image Colely has of me....I'll try hard to maintain that reputation with him and the rest of our kids, who, by the way, are the most amazing 10 kids I've ever been around, and, by the way again, I've been around a zillion + kids in my day.....

Matt and Julie, I love the way you love your boys (actually, I love the way all of you are raising your families....mom and I could not be prouder of all of you!!)....but back to Matt and Julie...it is so fun to read of your interactions way out there in Maui-land!! We can't wait to be there....you won't seem so far away once we get to be where you are!! We love youse guys madly!!!! Love, Dad
